Quick Build
Just knocked out this 1/48th Hasegawa F-16C. I used Two Bobs Decal sheet 48-012 and Chose the Aircraft F-16C 88-399, "The Crimson Tide Viper". I bought this Kit in 2005 along with a swag of other variants of the Hasegawa F-16 at a Swap and sell at the Australian Model Expo. This and many others sat in the stash until recently. It is the first F-16 I have built and I can say even for the age of the kit it goes together well.
The build process was straight forward and as usual began with the cockpit. I built this out of the box, other than decals.
Painting is in the usual colors using Model Master enamels. I hit the painted model with a coat of Future in readiness for Decals. The Two Bobs decals performed flawlesly and settled down with a light touch of Microsol.
Once all the decals settled down I gave a quick dust coat of future again in preperation to give a panel wash and weathering. I used a mixture of brown and black Gunze Acrylics, thinned with detergent and water.
I then usd a thinned tamiya smoke 90% thined to further bring out selected sections and lightened base color to highlight some areas. Finishing up I sprayed a final flat clear over the entire model. The result is fairly convincing in my eye.
Overall this model from start to finish was undertaken in five evenings. Next up in the HAsegawa F-16's will be a 'B+' model.
